There was no quorum
Meeting Call to Order
The
meeting was called to order a 6:40 pm by President Mary Rahn
Approval of Minutes
The
minutes from the 12/13/05 meeting were reviewed and will be approved at the
next meeting.
Financial Report
Karen was out of town and reported to Jill before she left that there is
approximately $2000 in the bank account.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The “Homeowner’s
Guide to Healthy Landscapes” has been released. Jill presented copies
to those present. She will check with Greg to see if a thank you has
been sent to Kent and Wayne for their work in producing the outstanding
publication. SC RCWMA paid for the guides with $1000 from a CIPM grant.

The NDOA 2006 grant
recipients have not been announced yet. It has been reported that
applications totaling over $300,000 had been submitted for the $150,000
available funds. The SCRCWMA submitted an application for $11,050.

EC CMWA will have
the last planning meeting February 21 before the Summit March 2. There
will be 3 board positions available. Donations have been requested to
sponsor breaks and door prizes.

EC CWMA has been
contacted by Mike Mitchell with the Humboldt River CWMA (HRCWMA) to
request that the three local CWMA’s (ECCWMA, SCRCWMA and HRCWMA) get
together in March to discuss sharing a coordinator/grant writer.
PUBLIC COMMENT:

Gerry Miller
reported that there is an interested party now living at the Big W Ranch
that has initiated a conservation plan with the owner/leasee and is
interested in working with SCRCWMA with weed control on the property.
NEW BUSINESS:
-
Jill discussed the
proposal for “Bag of Woad’ to substitute for the annual Woad Pull Day
this year. We have $2000 from the NDOA grant to fund this project. The
group brainstormed potential fund raiser groups, with parent
supervisors, that will be invited to participate (4-H, Girl Scouts,
Honor Society, FFA) – with the inmate crews considered as a back-up to
help with the digging of Woad. Jay Paxson volunteered to contact the
city Landfill to see if the City would waive the disposal fee and be
agreeable to correctly handling the bags of Woad. Jay also volunteered
to write an article for the newspaper. Gerry Miller will check on a
scale that can be used to weigh the bags turned in for $. Teri will put
together a list of the Spring Creek Girl Scout troops and 4-H leaders to
contact. Jill will contact the NvDOT to request a donation of the large
orange trash bags.

Mary and Jerry Rahn
have announced that they will be retiring and moving to Montana soon.
Greg Pyatt was elected President to fill the position vacated by
retiring President Mary Rahn.
