ANNOUNCEMENTS:
· Karen reported that she mailed out 139 personal invitations to tonight’s meeting to Spring Creek homeowners.
· Kim reported that he spoke with Pam Borda in regards to getting on the agenda for the SCA Board meeting next Wednesday 11/15. He spoke with Job Connect and found that they are not set up with employees for jobs such as we are looking for. They suggested he go to a temporary agency. With a temp agency the employee would earn, for example, $10/hr and we pay $15.18/hr - $5/hr going to the agency as commission. The agency would take care of taxes, worker’s comp etc. We are proposing 2 options for partnering with weed control efforts with SCA.
o 1 – 50% wages paid by SCA and 50% wages paid by SCRCWMA
o 2 – SCA would hire the employee and SCRCWMA would reimburse SCA for wages paid out.
o This employee would work 100% of their time with Kim on weed control. We anticipate paying $12/hr for 2 months (spray April, May, dig July =$3,800). SCR CWMA would provide the chemical and equipment.
· SCA has received a $40,000 grant to reinstate the NDF green belt project which has been brushed but not seeded yet. They have asked SCR CWMA for recommendations for how to effectively use the funds from the grant.
